Zuri Product for Design Beginners

Chukwuebuka is a graphic designer who base in Lagos, Nigeria. Living in a place like Lagos sometimes comes with a lot of Hussle. He has to juggle between having a work-life balance, Omo!, it’s not easy waking up very early everyday from what looks like a nap.
We caught up with him to give us an insight of what it takes to be a Good Graphic Designer and the opportunities that comes with it.

Okey: "Thank you for finding time to let us into your career as a Graphic Designer living in a city like Lagos, we know it’s not an easy one. Can you tell us Who is Chukwuebuka"?

Chukwuebuka: "I am a young passionate and purpose driven graphic designer. Life is beautiful and we can make it colourful".

Okey: "wow! You’re a city boy o. So what a Graphic Design and who is a Good Graphic Designer"?

Chukwuebuka: "Graphic Design is a craft where professionals use elements and principles to plan and project ideas and experiences to create visual and textual content to communicate messages. But then, a Good Graphic Designer is someone who combine design elements to develop aesthetically visual concept to convey information through photos and art for advertisement, layout, report, logo, packaging, and more".

Okey: "From what you just told us, graphic designers are the ones who largely control the entirety of a business branding spectrum and that’s actually great". So what exactly does a Graphic Designer do"?

Chukwuebuka: "The job of a graphic designer has become multifaceted. A graphic designer help businesses and companies in the design of logos, magazine ads, Postcards and flyers, Infographics, Posters, banners and billboards, Email marketing templates, PowerPoint presentations, Images for websites and blogs, Web page design, Game interfaces, Theme design, the list goes on".

Okey: "That’s interesting! I so much love you guys. As a newbie to graphic design, what steps do you advice I take to be a good Graphic Designer"?

Chukwuebuka: "To be a good Graphic Designer you must be willing to learn and improve on your design skills on a daily basis. Being a designer means reading quality books in the field, and I highly recommend you read Zuri 'Basic design rules for beginners to design’.
